    A Day in the Life:

    As our Property Accountant you will have the opportunity to play an impactful role in the success of operations. While managing the basic general ledger accounting activities for 6-10 properties, you will also be responsible for supporting the property’s goal of achieving the highest Net Operating Income possible. With comprehensive knowledge in the field, you will be expected to execute daily financial reporting activities such as preparing general and standard journal entries, monthly statements, sales tax, performing closing processes and problem solving.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Full Cycle Accounting for a portfolio of properties, including and entering accruals & reclasses
    • Responsible for all basic accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, calculating management fees and preparing balance sheet reconciliations
    • Responsible for monitoring cash position for assigned properties, preparing cash worksheets, initiating recurring payment requests 
    • Responsible for completing monthly tax calculations & state filings
    • Working with property managers to ensure financials are accurate each month
    • Prepare monthly financial package and perform initial P&L variance reviews 
    • Adhere to varied client closing calendars
    • Collaborate during pre-close and close activities to ensure accurate, timely and complete financial reporting
    • Ability to research and resolve basic accounting problems.

    What You’ll Need to Succeed:

    • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent experience preferred
    • Previous full cycle accounting experience is a plus
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel functions
    • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) 
    • Work with limited supervision/independent work style
    • Work well in fast paced environment with tight deadlines
